Without the need for a cable, bowden cable or wire, SRAM engineers were given new options when designing the Eagle AXS™ shifter, resulting in a shifter that delivers a completely new shifting experience. The ergonomic buttons arecan be configured to do exactly what you want using the AXS™ app. Each button can be assigned one of three functions: Upshift, Downshift or control the dropper post. When the bike is not moving, it goes into sleep mode, and you can wake it up with just a press of one of the buttons.
It's not just a mechanical derailleur with a battery and motor. The Eagle AXS™ derailleur is also the brains of the entire AXS™ system. Easy to install,quiet operation, high accuracy and, in addition, an extended service life of the entire drive.
Compared to mechanical Eagle™ derailleurs, the new Eagle AXS™ has a 10mm shorter guide for better cross-country ability, the upper pulley is further forward for more chain-to-cassette contact, and the entire derailleur is closer to the frame.
New Overload Clutch technology protects Eagle AXS™ derailleurs from damage in the event of an impact. If an impact occurs, the motor disengages and the derailleur is free to move. Immediately afterhowever, it will return to its original position, so the rider won't even notice. The primary purpose of the Overload Clutch is to protect the derailleur motor, but it also protects the derailleur itself and even the frame dropout.

SRAM Corporation began with the goal of creating the absolute best shifting system and changed the cycling world forever with the introduction of Grip Shift. To support the innovation, we invested in Sachs Bicycle Company and built a state of the art manufacturing facility in Schweinfurt Germany. We had the vision and desire to expand our presence in the industry so we found the best suspension company, RockShox, joined forces with them, creating huge excitement in the global cycling community. Not content to stop there, we knew expanding our line with the best brakes, bottom brackets and cranksets would fine-tune the ride even more. So we teamed up with Avid and Truvativ.
